Gabriel is considered one of the archangels and is mentioned in the Bible in the Book of Daniel as well as in the Gospel according to Luke. He is regarded as an explacer of visions and as a messenger of God. According to Christian and Jewish views, it can also be interpreted as superior to the cherubim and seraphim. In Mormon theology, the archangel Gabriel was incarnated in Noah, the builder of the ark. Gabriel also plays an important role in Islam by transmitting the revelations to Muhammad.
