At the beginning, an artist has a picture before his eyes, the next step is, that he makes different drafts. Step by step the figure is developed and it does not play a role whether it is Saint Mary, the Crucified, a Saint, a rural person in its work clothes or an animal, which is wood carved according to a model. Only high-quality Linden-trees, Maple and Cembra pine wood is used for the carvings. A sculptor tries to combine his skill and patience with the best wood block in order to achieve the sculpture he is looking for.

And when it is often said, that wood carvings have their price, then it is only true. Please consider that a tree must be at least 75 years old and the wood must be dried in a natural way for several years. This is so important, because nobody wants a carved sculpture that gets cracked after some years. And we cannot use the wood core of a trunk for our carvings. There are a lot of circumstances that need to be considered already a long time before the artist can begin his work in order to form a piece of fine art in wood.

In the workshop a draft of a new sculpture is made in clay. Subsequently, a model is carved in wood and already this model is copy right protected. A sculpture model is always carved by one of the very best wood sculptors. The difficult and lengthy treatment from the first step to completion, requires a highly talented artist.

Many people love sculptures in their natural wood colour, in which the fine grain remains visible in all details. Others instead like painted sculptures and here you can also find top workmanship. Although each piece of art is made according to a master model, each item has its unmistakable expression and character. Therefore, we ask you cordially to remember, that there could always be a deviation in colour and facial expression from the pictures you see on our webpage.

And now we may wish you much joy with our Internet offer and that you find what your heart demands.

The model would then be worked out and the different sizes can be produced.
For this we use a model made of bronze which we feel by hand with the help of a milling machine to carve the different shapes of the model roughly. This results in a so-called blank of a wood carving, which must now be finely carved and sanded by hand to get a flawless shape and then the figure would be ready if you want to have it in natural colors.
If you prefer to have a beautiful painting of the carving, the figure in natural colors is now prepared for the different treatments.
Please bear in mind that the figures are painted only by hand and that each painting technique requires a different treatment.
So we differentiate the different treatments in colored, watercolors, real gold, stained, gold edge, antique,. . .
The most commonly used technique is the coloured one, which means painting with oil paints on nitro lacquer.
Watercolored is a water-based painting with light colours.
Real gold describes a painting on chalk ground with real gold leaf in 23 carats which is polished to high gloss.
The stained technique is a water-based technique where the figure is treated in different shades of brown and decorated with a gold Edge.
Goldline describes a figure that is waxed and polished and then provided with a gold line.
